Marc Lloyd started his Agency Express business in December 2001, having decided to accept redundancy from his former role as Co-op Store Manager in Macclesfield. Marc was actively looking for a new business venture, and Agency Express caught his eye straight away. He was attracted by the opportunity of van-based business, which meant he could work from home without the expense of new premises.

After completing his training course at head office, he was supported in launching his new business with a 3-day programme of visits to estate agencies in his local area, where he received a very positive response from the start.

During the past four and half years, Marc has experienced overwhelming success. “The business took a couple of months to build up at first, with some small competitor companies in the area. But estate agents were soon talking to each other about the Agency Express service, and their recommendations meant the business started growing. Being part of a national network helped, especially the professional image of the logoed vans.”

Marc enjoys the freedom of being his own boss and finds he has more time to spend with his family. The business has steadily grown and Marc now has two part-time staff and two vans on the road, each van handling an average of 30 to 40 jobs a day. However, there’s still more room for growth, and Marc has plans to add a third van next year.
