COVID Guidelines

Following the UK lockdown announcement we can confirm we are still operating.

To remain COVID safe have implemented the following guidelines for our operators:

Social distancing measures observed at all times
Hand sanitisers to be carried by all operators and used regularly
No knocking on vendors doors/interacting with vendors unless absolutely necessary
No visiting of branches
Face coverings/masks to be worn where possible
One person per van, unless those people live in the same household

Please ensure your customers are aware that we will be enforcing strict social distancing to protect all involved. We politely request they do not approach our operators, and boards are left in easily accessible locations for collection when required.

The highs and lows of Junes property market

The latest data from the Agency Express Property Activity Index has revealed a further increase in properties coming on to the market during June, but the number of properties ‘Sold’ has fallen. National month on month figures for new listings ‘For Sale’ sat at 10.4%, while properties ‘Sold’ sat at -3%. Although, this month’s ‘Sold’ figures are somewhat distorted by an unseasonal spike in activity during in May.

Observing performance across the rest of the UK, nine of the twelve regions recorded by the index reported increases in new listings ‘For Sale’ and five reported increases in properties ‘Sold’. This month’s prominent performing region was Central England, reporting robust increases in both properties ‘For Sale’ sitting at 13.90% and ‘Sold’ at 5.70%. Wales followed suit reporting record best increases for June with new listings 'For Sale' sitting at 3.60%.

Other regional hotspots in this month’s Property Activity Index included:

New listings ‘For Sale’

  • East Anglia 11.70%
  • South West 10.20%
  • Yorkshire & Humberside 5.20%

Properties ‘Sold’

  • Scotland 12.30%
  • West Midlands 7.50%
  • Wales 5.20%

The largest declines in June’s index were recorded in the North East. Month on month figures for newly listed properties fell for a third consecutive month sitting at -2.80%, and following a robust sales period in May properties ‘Sold’ dropped to -16.2%. However, while the month on month fluctuations may look significant the Index does show us that overall activity has increased year on year.

Commenting on the latest index results, Stephen Watson, Managing Director of Agency Express said: 

Month on month we see regional figures rise and fall, but overall we are witnessing an increase in properties coming on to the market and stable figures for properties ‘Sold’. As we now move in to in July and August a further slowdown in activity is anticipated, so we’ll be monitoring yearly comparisons closely to see how the summer fairs.
