Property activity picks up post summer slump

Augusts month on month data from the Agency Express Property Activity Index, has revealed a pick up in the number of properties ‘Sold’ across the UK.  Following an early summer slump national figures for properties ‘Sold’ rose to sat at 1.5%. However, figures for properties ‘For Sale’ were not as robust and remained down at -2.3%.

This months top performing region was the West Midlands, reporting a record best increase for August with properties ‘Sold’ sitting at 11.3%. The largest decline in Augusts Property Activity Index was recorded in London.

Commenting on the latest index results, Stephen Watson, Managing Director of Agency Express said:

This month the UK property market has seen some seasonal decline which is not unexpected. Overall, we are still witnessing year on year growth although the pace of the UK property market has felt slow this summer.
