No slowdown for property activity in September

Over the last nine months the Agency Express Property Activity Index has reported encouraging signs of growth across the UK property market.

The latest figures recorded by index has shown a further rise in property sales, for the ninth consecutive month.  National figures for Properties ‘Sold’ sat at a robust 17.2%, a substantial increase in sale over August’s figure of 1.6%.  Regional top performers in this months index included London, the South East and the South West.

Commenting on the latest results, Stephen Watson, Managing Director of Agency Express said:  A robust month for the UK property market but can we maintain current speed and growth? However, with news that the second phase of ‘Help to Buy’ scheme is to be launched three months early, we could see an increase of potential buyers coming on to the market. Over the next few months it will be interesting to see if the upward trend continues or if we experience the usual seasonal drop in market activity.
