Board Services Have Resumed

We are pleased to confirm our return to service as of Monday 11th May onwards.

With a wider understanding now of the relevant health risks, we will be implementing the following guidelines for our operators:

Social distancing measures observed at all times
Hand sanitisers to be carried by all operators and used regularly
No knocking on vendors doors/interacting with vendors unless absolutely necessary
No visiting of branches
Face coverings/masks to be worn where possible
One person per van, unless those people live in the same household

Please ensure your customers are aware that we will be enforcing strict social distancing to protect all involved. We politely request they do not approach our operators, and boards are left in easily accessible locations for collection when required.

Thank you to all our clients for their continued patience during this time.

New listing figures slow in February 2020

Following a booming start to the year, the latest data from the Agency Express Property Activity Index has revealed mixed activity across the UK property market in February.

National month on month figures for properties ‘Sold’ sat at a robust 12.8%. Figures for properties coming on to the market fell at -0.6% but activity remains on trend year on year.

Looking at performance across the individual regions recorded by the Property Activity Index, all twelve regions reported increases in properties ‘Sold’ but only six reported increases in properties coming on to the market.

Scotland sat at the top of this month’s leader board with new listing ‘For Sale’ at 20.9% and properties ‘Sold’ at 22.9%. While this month’s figures are buoyant, historical data shows a greater level of activity in 2019.

London followed suit with figures for properties ‘Sold’ at a 22.5%, marking the largest increase for the month since 2017. However, the greatest decline in this month’s index was also recorded in the capital. Following a bounce in activity during January, month on month figures for new listings in the capital fell to -10.4% and to -17.5% over a three-month rolling period.

Other regional hotspots in this month’s index included:

New listings ‘For Sale’

  • East Midlands 6.6%
  • Yorkshire and Humberside 4%
  • North East 1.7%
  • Central England 1.2%
  • West Midlands 0.8%

 Properties ‘Sold’

  • Central England 18.2%
  • Wales 15%
  • East Midlands 14.2%
  • South West 13.8%
  • South East 13.2%

Commenting on the latest index results, Stephen Watson, Managing Director of Agency Express said:

We typically see figures plateau in February following the January spike, but the latest data from the Property Activity Index has shown a marginally slower moving market compared to 12 months previous. Nevertheless we have seen a resurgence in activity when compared to the back end of last year, which leaves us in good stead for forthcoming months.
