Board Services Have Resumed

We are pleased to confirm our return to service as of Monday 11th May onwards.

With a wider understanding now of the relevant health risks, we will be implementing the following guidelines for our operators:

Social distancing measures observed at all times
Hand sanitisers to be carried by all operators and used regularly
No knocking on vendors doors/interacting with vendors unless absolutely necessary
No visiting of branches
Face coverings/masks to be worn where possible
One person per van, unless those people live in the same household

Please ensure your customers are aware that we will be enforcing strict social distancing to protect all involved. We politely request they do not approach our operators, and boards are left in easily accessible locations for collection when required.

UK property market heats up in July

The latest data from the Agency Express Property Activity Index has revealed a spike in property sales across the UK during July. National month on month figures for properties ‘Sold’ sat at 3.8% while new listings ‘For Sale’ fell at -2.4%. However, looking back at the index’s historical records, yearly comparisons show the declines made in July 2019 to be less than those recorded 12 months previous.

Across the country, eight of the twelve regions recorded by the Property Activity Index bucked the seasonal trend with both new listings ‘For Sale’ and properties ‘Sold’ reporting increases.

The East Midlands sat at the top of this month’s leader board with figures for new listings at a robust 21.7% and properties ‘Sold’ at 10.7%. The spike in figures marked the largest increase in activity for July since the index’s first records in 2012.

New listings ‘For Sale’

  • North West 9.3%
  • Scotland 9.2%
  • Yorkshire & Humberside 7.1%
  • West Midlands 6.5%
  • Wales 5.9%
  • North East 2.1%
  • South West 0.8%

Properties ‘Sold’

  • East Anglia 12.1%
  • Yorkshire & Humberside 10.2%
  • London 5.2%
  • South East 4%
  • South West 3.7%
  • North West 2.8%
  • Wales 1.2%

The largest declines in July’s Property Activity Index were recorded in Central England. New listings fell to -18.3% and properties ‘Sold’ to -2.7%. However, while the month on month decline is significant, figures recorded over a three-month rolling period remain buoyant as do year on year figures.

Commenting on the latest index results, Stephen Watson, Managing Director of Agency Express said:

Throughout the summer holiday months seasonal declines are anticipated, so we are pleased by July’s ‘Sold’ figures. However, whilst we have seen a spike, figures may have been somewhat stimulated by a recent surge of agents using Agency Express. The Property Activity Index data gives an insight in to current market activity. This data is drawn from our ever-growing database of clients and the board movements they make.
