Private rental declines in July

The latest private rental data from the Agency Express Property Activity Index has shown a slow down in properties ‘Let’ across the UK during July. National figures sat at -5.2% where as figures recorded in 2015 were more robust at 3%. National figures for new listing ‘To Let’ were buoyant at 3.6%, however over a three month rolling period the overall figures were down, sitting at -2.50%.

The North West was this months regional hot spot. Following two consecutive months of decline listings ‘To Let’ climbed from -5.4% in June to  12.8% in July.

Commenting on the Property Activity Index Lettings Report, Stephen Watson Managing Director of Agency Express said:

This month we have seen slower movement throughout UK’s  private rental market. While some decline can be expected during the summer holiday period, the Property Activity Index shows a greater fall in activity than in years previous.
