Agency Express Lancaster
Martin Shuker launched his Agency Express franchise in August 2012. Previously an experienced Business Manager of ten years in fast moving consumer goods, Martin had experienced two redundancies within the last five years. Striving for control of his own career and financial future he felt it was time to explore the option of setting up his own business.
Security was a key factor in Martins search for potential business start-ups. After much investigation he decided that the Agency Express franchise package proved capable of providing him with a clear and established business model that would provide him with the peace of mind he needed.
I was filled with confidence from the professional way my enquiries where dealt with by the Agency Express Team. The strength of the franchise package, the impressive growth of the business in the last 12 years and the fact that the model clearly works, 100 franchisees proves that. I also received fantastic feedback when speaking to other franchisees about their experiences. That gave me the extra confidence to proceed.
After successfully completing the ten day Agency Express training programme Martin’s launch within the Lancaster territory went exceptionally well.
Utilising his business management skills and experience Martin successfully forged new relationships and signed his first clients shortly after.
Building a business from scratch is both rewarding and terrifying in equal measures at times. When I first started my challenge was literally where am I going to put this board and how going to improve the speed in which I work? But with time comes experience and as my work has increased I’ve found my speed has naturally increased to keep pace. There is always something new to learn and you’re never left on your own, everyone at the Agency Express Head Office is always there with advice and support. However I never forget or take for granted that I now own my business. I’m now in control of my future and not having the fear of redundancy is a great feeling.
Less than a year from inception Martin has established a solid base of customers in which he can continue to grow the business further and has quickly achieved a sustainable level of income.
For anyone that has been made redundant and has had the same fears and frustration as me I would say consider franchising. Investing my redundancy money in to a franchise has been a great choice for me. I’m now building my own future and I’m in control.
